Technical SEO Manager

You will be working as part of the performance marketing team, leading on SEO. This will involve working closely with our clients to drive clear organic growth in traffic, sales and conversions on small to medium WordPress and eCommerce websites. 

You will be skilled at extracting value from data, and using it to identify opportunities. You should be comfortable writing and presenting executable strategies. 

The successful candidate will have experience using technical SEO, digital PR and content marketing as part of an integrated strategy to build brands online. 

The role represents an exciting opportunity for a hungry junior, ready to make the step-up at an ambitious, growing agency in our Cornwall (HQ) or London (shared) office.

Key duties

Technical

  • Maintain updated sitemaps
  • Update Robots.txt
  • Disavow toxic URLs
  • Use Developer tools, Google Search Console, Webmaster Tools and third party softwares such as Moz, SEMRush, Ahrefs etc to interpret rankings, how sites are crawled and indexed, structured data/rich results presence, identify and resolve related issues.
  • Implementation of FAQ Schema, article schema, video schema content
  • File bug reports and development tasks to communicate technical SEO issues with developers
  • Stay informed and knowledgeable regarding important SEO industry updates like algorithm changes, Core Vitals, communicate with developers and management.

On-site and content

  • Internal link optimisation and mitigate cannibalisation
  • Link building
  • Keyword research
  • Competitor analysis and benchmarking

Analytics

  • Maintain keyword rank tracking reports and attend monthly client meetings
  • Analysing organic traffic and providing strategies for improvement

Must have

  • Expert knowledge of latest on-page and technical SEO best practices
  • Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms
  • Strong content writing skills
  • Understanding of HTML / CSS / Java / WordPress 
  • Strong Google Analytics knowledge
  • YouTube & Amazon SEO experience is an advantage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel required
  • Project management software experience a plus (Monday.com or Teamwork)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and prioritise accordingly
